Apple has finally released the much anticipated budget-oriented iPhone 16e. Being a successor to the iPhone SE, this one brings significant changes over its predecessor. It has now adapted to the new iPhone design language with a boxier design. It has also ditched the TouchID, which we all loved in favor of the FaceID tech. This phone is definitely full of surprises and brings a lot to the table for a starting price of just AED 2,599. Here’s everything you need to know about the iPhone 16e.
Apple iPhone 16e Price & Availability
The iPhone 16e is a budget-oriented option for new iPhone shoppers. Hence, Apple has priced it really well at just AED 2,599 for the 128GB variant. The new iPhone is also available in 256GB and 512GB variants for AED 2,999 and AED 3,849, respectively. It is released in two color options – Black and White. It would have been great to see some more color options like we have on the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models.
As for the availability, if you are interested in buying one, the pre-orders will start at 5pm on February 21, 2025. Apple will start shipping out devices starting February 28. That’s also when we can expect to see these at our nearest Sharaf DG, Virgin Megastore, and Jumbo outlets. For people looking to order these online, the iPhone 16e will soon make its way to Amazon.ae and Noon as well.
Apple iPhone 16e Specs & Features
Powered by the latest Apple A18 chip, this phone will lack no short in terms of power. It will even support all the Apple Intelligence features that are being rolled out slowly. With this new iPhone, Apple has finally added its own in-house modem called the Apple C1. Instead of the mute switch, this one also comes with the action button just like we have seen on the other iPhone 16 models. What was surprising to me is that it comes with a 6.1-inch OLED display. I thought that as this one is a budget model, Apple would give an LCD panel. But it’s good to see an OLED display here as it offers deeper blacks and better colors overall.
Just like the other iPhone 16 models, this one also comes with a USB-C port, which means now all your devices can charge with just one cable.

In terms of the optics, the iPhone 16e gets a single camera on the back and that’s a 48MP Fusion camera sensor. The rear camera supports 4k at 60fps recording, which is a piece of great news for all the content creators out there. Up front, there is a 12MP sensor for all your Facetime calls and selfies.
Who is the iPhone 16e for?
The iPhone 16e is the perfect entry-level iPhone for all Android users who have been wanting to make a switch. It is also a great option for those who are stuck with an iPhone 11 or older. They can now upgrade to the latest iPhone hardware, without burning a hole in their pocket.
If you are a content creator or a professional who relies on your phone a lot, then you should skip this one and try to get an iPhone 16 or the iPhone 16 Pro instead.
