Alongside the new foldable smartphones and the Galaxy Watch Ultra, the South Korean giant also introduced the Samsung Galaxy Ring at the Unpacked event. The wearable device was already expected by tech enthusiasts as numerous teasers and leaks came out before the event. This could essentially be a game-changer in the world of health-tracking devices. But sadly enough for the UAE audience, the smart ring is not coming to the Middle East region yet.
Is Galaxy Ring coming to UAE?
This is a question that is in the minds of all tech enthusiasts, especially Samsung fans in the region. It is a new piece of technology that everyone wants to own. Considering we are getting more cautious about our health, this could be a much useful addition to our life. However, according to a recent report by GulfNews, there are going to be delays in the launch of the Samsung Ring in the UAE.
When questioned, a high official at Samsung told GulfNews that they are facing certain supply chain challenges, which is why they have not announced a launch date for the device. Besides that, a Samsung Community Manager on the Samsung Community Forum says “While we can’t yet share details on future availability, please stay tuned for more updates as they become available.”
So, coming back to the question of whether the Ring will be making it to the UAE or not, we have no answer to that. Even if Samsung has decided not to release the smart ring in the Emirates, they have not given a clear public statement yet. And if they are going to release it on a later date, we have not been told as to when the ring might be made available in the region.
Galaxy Ring Alternatives
If you have already watched the Samsung event and the capabilities of a smart ring amuse you, you do not necessarily have to wait. Until Samsung launches the Galaxy Ring in the Middle East, you can explore some of the popular alternatives. Here’s a list of some of the best alternative smart ring options.
Oura Ring
With the launch of Galaxy Ring, Samsung is going head to head against Oura, a popular smart ring brand. With a starting price of about AED 1,245 on Amazon, the Oura Ring Gen3 offers sleep tracking, fitness tracking, and a 5-7 day battery life. Unlike the Galaxy Ring, this one works on a subscription model. So, on top of paying for the device, you will have to get a $5.99 per month subscription to access all the features on the app.
Ultrahuman Ring
Aside from the Oura Ring, the Ultrahuman ring has also gained a lot of popularity in the tech community. For a price of around AED 1,200 to AED 1,400, the smart ring offers all the features one can ask for. And the best part is, this one does not even require any monthly subscription. So, you get everything from advanced sleep-tracking to HRV & Temperature Monitoring. It also offers track workouts, movement & recovery, and more. The ring is water resistant, which means you can even wear it while heading for a shower.
