Apple has finally unveiled the much-anticipated iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models. With the focus falling majorly on Apple Intelligence, the company has deeply integrated AI in the iOS 18 and the new A18 and A18 Pro chips will allow the iPhone 16 lineup to take full advantage of the software features. Besides AI, the focus was also cameras for which Apple has finally given a dedicated shutter button. Lets dive deep into the details of the new iPhone lineup.
Apple iPhone 16 Availability & Price in Dubai
Apple iPhone 16 & iPhone 16 Plus are released in five different color options, namely, black, white, pink, teal, and ultramarine. In terms of storage options, you can pick between 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. While the iPhone 16 starts at AED 3,399, the Plus variant starts at AED 3,799. However, most people might opt for the 256GB variant which will set you back AED 3,799 and AED 4,199 for the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch models, respectively.
As for the Pro models, they will be available available in black titanium, natural titanium, white titanium, and desert titanium colorways. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models will start at AED 4,299 and AED 5,099, respectively. While the base variant of the iPhone 16 Pro is 128GB, the 6.9-inch model only starts at 256GB.
Pre-orders for both iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models will start at 4 PM on September 13. The new iPhones will be made available starting September 20.
Apple iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus: Specs & Features
Apple has once again set the bar high with the introduction of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. The new models offer some significant upgrades over their predecessor. To begin with, the company has changed the design this time around eliminating the square camera setup in order to bring back the vertical setup we first saw on the iPhone X.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus come in two sizes: 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively. Both models feature a sleek and durable design. At the heart of these new iPhones is the A18 chip, which not only offers a boost in performance and efficiency but is also designed for the new Apple Intelligence features. The new chip allows the iPhone 16 models to perform advanced features like Camera Control.
Camera Upgrades
Just like every iPhone upgrade, this one also brings significant improvements to the cameras. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus both get a dual-camera setup featuring a 48MP Fusion camera with a 2x Telephoto option, allowing for stunning photos and videos. The new Ultra-Wide camera supports macro photography.
One of the biggest changes here has to be the new Camera Shutter button. The innovative design of the button allows it to do multiple things instead of just acting as a shutter button. You can press it lightly to bring certain options and click it firmly to click a picture. You can also slide on the button to zoom or use other camera functions without needing to touch the screen of your phone. The shutter button alone brings a rather pro-camera experience.
Unlike the iPhone 15, the new iPhone 16 gets an action button now, which was limited to the Pro variants last year. While we do get the dynamic island, the regular iPhone models still do not get the Pro Motion or Always-on display feature.
iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max: Specs & Features
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max feature larger display sizes essentially offering the biggest iPhone displays ever seen. While the Pro is now sized at 6.3-inch, the Pro Max gets a whopping 6.7-inch display. Just like the last year, the Pro models still use a Titanium frame this year as well. The bigger display has been made possible due to the use of the thinnest borders on any Apple product.
The AI Phones of 2024
While the regular iPhone 16 gets the A18 chip, the iPhone 16 Pro models get the A18 Pro chip offering a much better performance for both high-end gaming to professional-grade photo and video editing. Apple Intelligence further enhances the user experience by understanding personal context and delivering relevant, helpful information while maintaining privacy.

The camera system on the Pro models are exciting for both photographers as well as regular users. Both models feature a 48MP Fusion camera with a faster quad-pixel sensor that can read data 2x faster. It also allows the phone to record videos in 4K120 fps in Dolby Vision. The new 48MP Ultra Wide camera supports higher-resolution photography, including macro shots. On top of that, the 5x Telephoto camera offers incredible zoom capabilities.
